Uh oh! Sandal season
is here, and your toes aren't looking too pretty! No worries! AG has
tips on how to give yourself a professional pedicure without
spending money on expensive salons! All of the products you'll need
can be found at your local Wal-Mart! |

|
 |
Step 1: Cut and file
your toenails straight across, slightly rounding the corners. This
helps to prevent hangnails, yet the rounded edges help to protect
against breakage. |
|
 |
Step 2: Prepare a hot tub of water
with a towel at the bottom for your feet to rest on. Sprinkle Epsom
salt and mix into the water. Also add a cup of milk! It helps to
loosen dead skin. Let your feet soak for ten minutes. |
|
 |
Step 3: After soaking your feet, your
cuticles are soft. Put cuticle oil around the edges of your nail
(Try Sally Hanson's at Drug Stores) and use a cuticle stick to
gently push back the cuticles. Unless you are well practiced, try to
avoid cuticle clippers. You don't want to cut your toe flesh! |
 |
Step 4: Next, you want to apply an
exfoliating foot scrub, or pumice stone to the heal and ball of your
feet. Scrub hard to remove dead skin, but if your feet start to turn
really red, stop. You don't want to peel off anything but the very
first layer of dead skin. |
|
 |
Step 5: Lastly, moisturize your feet
and calves with a thick foot crème. Moisturize your cuticles again
with cuticle oil and then don a pair of socks to lock in the
moisture, and you're done! |
