Just A Bit Confused 2/16/08

Imagine for a moment that you were a rich, powerful, and well respected young lady. Sounds pretty good, doesn't it? Now add a bit of leprosy to the mix, and you can pretty much picture the life of Namon-- a man in the Bible who had a good life, but a big problem! Namon had power, he had money, and he had a horrible disease that he could not find a cure for!

Namon had heard of a prophet named Elisha who could pray and call on his God for healing! With this in mind, Namon went out to find Elisha and ask for his leprosy to end! We are all pretty familiar with the story!

In 2 Kings 5:10-11, we see that when Namon asked Elisha for help, Elisha didn't even come out! He simply told Namon to go to the Jordan River and wash himself seven times!

Namon was shocked! Not only did Elisha refrain from coming out to great him, but he told Namon to go to the dirtiest river around and dunk himself not once, not twice, but seven times! What a strange and peculiar thing to do!

Never the less, as we all know, Namon obeyed and guess what?!? He was healed! We can learn a lesson from this, Apostolic Girls. No matter how silly it may seem, or confusing, if God tells us to do something, we need to do it! It could very well be the answer to your prayers and the solution to your problems!

Sometimes we won't get the answer from God that we're expecting. It might be a bit confusing and baffling. Yet I promise that if you obey...you won't be disappointed!
